Melissa Fisher, LCSW
It all started when…
There are times in life when we get stuck in the recent or distant past, which can significantly affect the present and our ability to live a full life. Our brains, bodies, thoughts, and emotions are all impacted by our experiences. Unhealthy, dismissive relationships or distressing, traumatic experiences can have a big impact on how we think, act and feel. And while I know it can be hard to reach out, therapy can be the best tool to help you in your journey to gain insight, understanding, and to create change in the sticky patterns and behaviors that don’t serve you. You don’t have to do it alone: my greatest priority as a therapist is to ensure you feel seen, heard, and supported in my office. When you come to therapy, I will meet you where you’re at so we can develop an authentic connection, and so you can feel supported as you move toward greater self-awareness and healing. I want to help you become even more of an expert on yourself.
As a therapist, I have worked with individuals, groups, and families through trauma-informed approaches to help my clients create the life they yearn for. I am certified in the Neurosequential Model of Therapuetics, which helps me understand how the brain works and how to regulate it to create peace and healing. I am also trained in EMDR, which I use with clients to address distressing or traumatic experiences. Overall, my goal is to work collaboratively with you to create a plan of action that feels aligned with your needs.
